The Tigo Rapid Shutdown System (RSS) Transmitter is part of a solution for rapid shutdown. When combined with the Tigo TS4-F (Fire Safety) unit, it allows for quick shut off of PV modules in emergency situations. The RSS Transmitter sends a signal to the TS4-F units to keep them supplying energy while turned on. If the signal is lost, the TS4-F units will enter rapid shutdown mode and resume energy production when the signal is restored. This solution meets NEC 690.12 specifications for 2014, 2017, and 2020 and uses PLC signaling for rapid shutdown. The Outdoor Kit for the RSS Transmitter includes the transmitter, an outdoor enclosure, a 120/240VAC power supply, and one or two RSS Cores.
